Over 42 million people are living with HIV/AIDS. In the United States, an estimated one million people are infected, with approximately 40,000 new infections occurring each year. With support, some people can continue their lives even with the virus. However, several others hide it and deny it in shame. Even worse are those who fail to get tested at all. In any case, it remains unspoken.
Meet Lisa Canning, a young woman with a bright future in medicine, raised in the suburbs as a model daughter and citizen. With one critical choice and one wrong turn in her path, the future she built for herself has now reduced to rubble. The road ahead of her only shows pain, loneliness, and suffering.
Complete chaos shadows her every move. What’s worse is the feeling that her future is over, due to a decision she made with out knowing as a senior in high school. Now the ultimate killer is following her. There is no escape; it is in her blood.
Throwing away her life is one thing but she also struggles with the guilt of infecting her loved ones. In her attempt to save herself from her families rejection, Lisa, abandons them. She constantly pushes away to control the rage and hate that she feels for herself.
She reaches out to people in her past only to find out that they are worse off than she had ever imagined. Not knowing who to turn to and who to confide in, Lisa hides her conditions instead of seeking support.
Is her secret worth losing the love of her life and everything thing she has worked desperately to maintain? Or will she somehow find the strength to overcome her fear of rejection? It remains unspoken.
This WILL be more than a masterpiece, it will be a global awareness for HIV.
